6:00 - 6:30 p.m. - Cherub/Wesley Choir
(age 5 through 5th grade)
6:30 - 7:15 p.m. - Epworth Choir
(6th through 12th grades)
7:30 p.m. Chancel Choir

The Cherub/Wesley Choir and the Epworth Choir will both sing in October. The schedule is as follows:

Children's Sabbath, Sunday, October 23 - Cherub/Wesley Choir 10:45 a.m. Service only

Sunday, October 30 - Epworth Choir Both Services

All choirs will participate on Sunday, November 20 (Both Services), the Sunday before Thanksgiving. That date has been designated Choir Appreciation Day, and an ice cream social will follow the 10:45 a.m. service in your honor.

Our Christmas Concert is December 11 (currently scheduled for 7:00 p.m.) All choirs will participate. All choirs will probably sing on Christmas Eve, as well.

Please call if you have any questions, 599-4230 or 594-6166. I hope parents will be able to attend the first choir rehearsal on September 14 to receive important information.

Flute and Organ

Husband and wife duo Anna and Erik Meyer will be our guests, with a reception hosted by the Chancel Choir. Now residing in Erie, Pennsylvania, Anna is formerly a Peninsula resident. Her parents, Chris and Jim Wessler, live in Newport News and are members of St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

All lay and clergy are invited to The Bishop's Convocation on Religion and Race

Bishop Charlene Kammerer and the Committee on Religion and Race invite all lay and clergy persons to The Bishop's Convocation on Religion and Race, Saturday, September 17, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Reveille United Methodist Church, Richmond.

Diverse workshops will offer practical ways to become more effective in practicing hospitality, to enrich multicultural worship; so that our good intentions of "Open minds, open hearts and open doors" can become more evident to the communities around our churches.

Registration is required. You may register ONLINE: www.vaumc.org or obtain a registration blank from your church office and MAIL to: Virginia United Methodist Center, P.O. Box 1718, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060

The $10 registration fee covers lunch and refreshments as well as the workshops. Hispanic, Korean and Soul food will be offered.
