Monday Morning Bible Study Class will resume the Monday after Labor Day, that is, on September 12. Please put it on your calendar. Here, again, we have the blessed opportunity to grow in our faith, and to be able to articulate our beliefs, and to share in our spiritual journey. Through this experience, our love, compassion and concern for one another are increased.
We will be studying the letter of Paul to the Galatians. On the 12th of September we will begin where we had left off in the spring, with Galatians 4. We plan to briefly review chapter one, two and three and then proceed with an in-depth study of chapter 4.
We hope to see you there at 10:00 a.m. on Monday morning in the fellowship hall.
Do you have an hour per week to give? As fall approaches we will begin our 7th year of tutoring at South Morrison Elementary. Will you please consider being a part of FUMC's Tutoring Team.
Statistics show that 65% of fourth graders in the public school system in Virginia read below grade level. You are greatly needed to read to and listen to a child needing help. If you can serve God in this special way, please call Judy Talbert 596-4904 for the details.
Our monthly meeting in September is Saturday, September 17 at 8:00 a.m. with the Peninsula District UMM at First United Methodist Church, Fox Hill . Their chef is not flexible like our patient and forgiving Clyde Keller, they want a paid count in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door! Please call the church office at 595-0383 or Dick Kintigh at 930-2417 for reservations. Please reserve your ticket by September 6.
If you have had breakfast with millionaire, Governor Warner or millionaire, D.C. lobbyist Paul Trible and spent $1,000, how about spending $10 to hear the Rev. John T. LeGault Jr.? There will be time for intercessory prayer and breakfast worth more than a million.
All members of First United Methodist Church are welcome. This is not just a "male thing." I feel this will be over booked. So get your ticket now. If there are enough interested in taking the van - it will be made available.
