"September Song," a favorite but not so contemporary song I love could be our theme song this September. On September 11 we will have a Sunday School breakfast, with a shortened worship service at 8:30. The pick-up breakfast will begin about 9:10 and then Sunday School at 9:30 in all the usual places. A new set up for children and youth will be in place this year. However much has been happening to make the interior more attractive. The upstairs multi-purpose room has been painted, and carpeted. New equipment has been ordered and we hope will be in place. The little kitchen in the multi-purpose room will be renovated and much more usable than before, meaning we can have all kinds of events in that room with food if needed. The Fellowship Hall will have been painted and new chairs installed. The old orange plastic chairs we hope will have gone on to service in other locations. A newly founded church in Emporia was getting some of our chairs as they start literally from scratch.
Summer will fade into memory and we will look forward to cooler weather. This year is going by fast and your staff is already talking about our Advent/Christmas plans. Stewardship campaign will take our attention in October as we focus on the 2006 budget. In November we will make the 20th into a big thanksgiving Sunday as we ask everyone to donate toward the reducing of our indebtedness on the renovations to this building all of which were badly needed. We thank everyone for the financial support all year as we enter late summer, early fall we are in good shape.
God Bless,
