Calling all children! Seeking a new name for Sunday School!

If you could rename Sunday School what would it be? Turn in your ideas to Annette Pomeroy, Lisa Coleman, or Martha Dodson. We want to start September with a new name for the children's Sunday school.

SPY: Summer Youth Project (mission week)

SPY provides an opportunity for youth (6th thru 12th graders) to share the love of God through a week in mission to those less fortunate in the New River Valley region of Virginia. Our youth will be spending the week of July 16-22 in Christianburg at Fieldstone United Methodist Church. We have four youth attending: Sarah Elder, John Elder, Kasey Kingston, and Lindsey Nicolai. Florence Kingston and Annette Pomeroy are also going. Please be in prayer for them as this is the first time our youth have been on a mission trip.

2005 Graduates. The church would like to honor our 2005 graduates - high school and college - by listing their name and school in one of the bulletins during July. Please contact the church office with this information. Information on grandchildren is also welcome. Graduates will be honored at the 10:45 a.m. worship service on July 10.

Just a reminder: Please do not leave any donations to our library without leaving your name and how you can be contacted. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter. If we cannot use the book or other donations to our library, we need to be able to contact you concerning how you desire us to proceed. As you know, there are several options available to us.

Recently, Don and I saw Ruth at the Millennium Theatre in Lancaster County, PA. If you haven't been there, it is certainly worth your time to have this exceptional experience. The story of Ruth, from the Old Testament, vividly reflects God's love and faithfulness through unlikely people. Ruth will be performed until October 22. Some future productions are: Miracle of Christmas (November 12, '05 - January 7, '06) and Behold the Lamb (March 18 - April 29, '06). There is also a "Behind the Scenes Tour" (May 31 - October 20).

We also visited the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, NY. The Institution is opening its 132nd Season. Founded in 1874, it was a training ground for Methodist Sunday School teachers. Now it functions as a summer encampment, a college campus, an arts colony, a music festival and a religious retreat. If you are planning a summer "get-away," this may be an interesting experience.

Remember, the list of United Methodist Women's Reading Program books that you have read is due in September, so try to read at least three.
