Two 2005 United Methodist Reading Program Books have been donated to your library.
Under the Section Large Print (but not large print)
Education of Ruby Loonfoot by Paxton Riddle. This book is donated by Circle #6 in memory of Lula Ludwick.
Education for Mission (Youth)
Journey of the Sparrows by Fran Leeper Buss. This book is donated by Circle #6 in memory of Evelyn Bridger.
Summer is a great time to get caught up on your reading for the United Methodist Reading Program. Remember, September is the time to turn in your reading lists to Billie Way. It is hoped that we will all read at least four books. It is important to let Billie know if you read any of the books. (P.S. You do not have to be a member of the United Methodist Women's Organization to participate in the Reading Program. If you have questions, just contact Billie Way at 930-3545.)
The family of Michael Miller (in PA) and Glenn and Betty Miller wish to thank everyone for their prayers and concerns in the recent hospital stay of their son/grandson, Mason. He's home now and well on the mend. Thanks again.
God Bless You,
The Millers
I would like to express my gratitude to everyone for their many kindnesses during my convalescing from shoulder surgery. Your calls, cards, and most importantly your prayers were very much appreciated. A special thank you for my pals in Circle 7 who came to the rescue just before I heated up my 35th TV dinner!

To the Members of First United Methodist Church:
It is with great sadness that I inform you that as of May 31st, 2005, CONTACT Peninsula will be closing our doors. Due to financial hardships as well as a shrinking volunteer base, we cannot carry on this much needed ministry any longer. We will do our best to make sure that our callers have access to other local telephone crisis lines and needed services.
From the bottom of our hearts, the CONTACT family thanks you for your love and support. We certainly would not have been able to continue serving the Hampton Roads community for the past 36 years without your help. We are very proud of the work that we have done, and you should be proud to have been part of this great ministry.
Very sincerely,
Carolsue Ingle
Program Director
