Summer is nearly here and the months seem to fly by. This is the month for Annual Conference which means all ministers and lay members to the Annual Conference must report. Our Conference this June 12-15 will be at the Hampton Coliseum with improved parking. Last year was very difficult because of the new Conference Center which is now up and going. You will notice this building to the west of the Coliseum. At the Conference there will be reports from all over the Virginia Conference along with worship services and inspirational sermons and other events. Hope you can come if you desire. A schedule will be posted on the bulletin board near the church office.
I will teach another short-term class in the same classroom upstairs, #214 beginning June 19 entitled, "This Holy Mystery." This is a study of Holy Communion authorized by the General Conference of the United Methodist Church just last year. This is so new that the books for the study are not yet published though you can download some of the material from www.gbod.org, or the General Board of Discipleship. The author of this study is Gayle Carlton Felton. The study is designed for seven sessions though we may condense it to four or five meetings. Look for more announcements in the Sunday bulletins and come join us whether or not you are attending any other class. We have had a good, lively discussion in the study of "Why I am a United Methodist." This study will end June 5.
Please keep in touch with your church as summer comes, and remember our worship life is ongoing as is our walk with our Savior.
