It was an exciting year in 2004 for First United Methodist Church. A number of significant changes were completed as well as maintaining the routine upkeep of our buildings. We are already off and running with new projects and we envision much more in 2005. Thank you to the congregation , the Over-the-Hill Gang, other volunteers and the trustees for making all this possible. Through God all things are possible.

We welcome our new trustees- Jim Loving and Charlie Yates.

  1. As of this writing January 15, over 100 new windows have been installed with less than 20 to go. The work should be completed by the time you receive this Tower. Our thanks go to our contractor Roger Cawthon and his company, American Builders for their excellent work. If you need information about this company or any other that is doing work for the church, contact Fred Way or myself.
  2. The steps to all four stair ways have been painted.
  3. The men's room on the second floor has been painted and is in the process of being remodeled.
  4. Before Easter, two new projects are scheduled to be completed. They will have a big impact on our church building. See if you can find out what they are before the next Tower.
  5. A training was held recently on the operation of our new kitchen equipment. Please consult one of the following on specific instructions on their usage if you intend on using them: Jane and John LeGault, June Loving, Cindy Loving, Ruth and Roy Klingenberg, Kathy Hubbard, Tyrone Walker, Martha Dodson and Fred Way.

Please remember in making memorials, or in honoring someone, the Building Fund, and 50th Anniversary Fund are excellent possibilities for your contributions.

In the Mail

A Super Thank You!!!

I just want to let everyone know, that I collected 11,300 fronts of all greeting cards for the year of 2004. It just keeps getting better, but not without a lot of help, from my friends at First Church, and yes from other friends as well.

Since September 10, 2001, there has been a total of 41,541 cards collected and processed. This figure just "blows my mind" but I'm very proud of all that has been done to "help the children."

Please keep the cards coming, and I Thank You All from the bottom of my heart, and I know the children feel the same way.

Love,
Bertie S. Mills
