Our local United Methodist Men's fellowship is currently organizing a team to attend the 9th National Gathering of United Methodist Men's Rally at Purdue University in July. This event is only held every four years. Our goal is to have at least 10 men from our church to attend this retreat. We have six who have already committed to attend and several others who have expressed an interest in learning more about the details of the rally. The dates are July 15-17 with an optional opening day golf tournament available on July 14. Transportation will be provided by those church members who are planning to attend. All who register before February 1 will save an additional $50 registration fee. Financial assistance will be provided by our own local men's fellowship for all those who are attending. Contact Dave Williamson, 825-7392 or Jonathan Smith, 591-9262 for a registration form or to learn more about this exciting weekend of music, inspirational speakers and Christian fellowship at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. You do not have to be an active member of our local chapter of United Methodist Men to attend-all men are invited to participate!
As the New Year starts and the old year ends There's no better time to make amends For all the things we sincerely regret And wish in our hearts we could somehow forget- We all make mistakes, for it's human to err, But no one need ever give up in despair, For God gives us all al brand-new beginning, A chance to start over and repent of our sinning- And when God forgives us we too must forgive And resolve to do better each day that we live By constantly trying to be like Him more nearly And to trust in His wisdom and love Him more dearly- Assured that we're never out of His care And we're always welcome to seek Him in prayer.
