Erleen Wheeling has donated in memory of Myrtle Davies an autographed copy of a book entitled Candlesticks. The author, Ethel W. Born, discusses how Methodist Women have put their faith to work in the state of Virginia. This material would make an excellent program. Thank you, Erleen.

Please note. The Library Committee request that you not leave books, tapes or other items in the library without including your name. We need to know who to thank for donations. Recently two items have been left with no name and they are duplicates of material that we already possess. We need to return them to the owners.

Winter is a perfect time to read, so come into your library and choose a book. We have an abundance of excellent choices. You will find clipboards with computer printouts on the table. Selections are listed by subject, title, or author.

Come, visit Acorn Hill, a charming little town located in rural Pennsylvania, where the townsfolk display friendship and faith. Read this precious novel, donated by Louise Fox, that is entitled Going to the Chapel. Rebecca Kelly is the author.

Have you ever wondered what type of food Jesus ate? Your library has, on two cassettes, the book, What Would Jesus Eat? The author, Don Colbert M.D., has examined the Scriptures for foods known to have been eaten by Jesus and foods that can be inferred he ate. This diet is ideal for us in the twenty-first century as well.

To my Brothers & Sisters in Christ at First United Methodist Church,

I just wish to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the continuing prayers that so many of you have offered up for my wife, Kathryn's return to health and hope that they will continue. I also wish to thank all who have sent her cards. There is no way I can possibly find the time to write thanks to each one of your. Again, thank you for your caring and prayers.

Love to all,

Bob McKitrick

As I pondered a way to say thank you to everyone who has prayed, encouraged or blessed our family with food, flowers, balloons, books or CD's I searched the scriptures for the right words and came across I Chronicles 16:34 that says:
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

I would paraphrase it in this way:
As we begin a New Year think about.........
Your blessings instead of your trials,
Your gains instead of your losses,
Your joys instead of your woes,
Your friends instead of your foes,
Your smiles instead of your tears,
Your courage instead of your fears,
Your full years instead of your lean,
Your kind deeds instead of your mean,
Your health instead of your wealth,
GOD instead of yourself.........

And REMEMBER to THANK the LORD ALWAYS as I have thanked Him for the faith,
hope and love the members of First Church have shared with me and my family!
May God bless you as you have blessed us.

In His love,
Cathy, Dave, Valorie & Andrew Williamson
