Ladies! Don't sit down! We have a lot to do. We have plans to
make, and places to go, and people to see, and goodies to
bake, and stew to make and the list goes on and on and
well ..... you get the picture.
The Peninsula District Annual Meeting is Saturday, October 2 at Christ United Methodist Church, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. This will be a fun time to celebrate as a district our 135 years in mission. Everyone who attends will receive a party gift. I hope you will all try to come.
The executive board has planned an exciting UMW day for Sunday, October 24. The United Methodist Women will lead both worship services that day. Our guest speaker will be Louise Miller. Yes, the Louise Miller we all know and love is coming from Roanoke to be with us that morning. She will be speaking on "135 Years of Giving." Following the second service we will serve lunch in the fellowship hall, so we will all have a chance to catch up with Louise.
Then the following weekend is the annual craft show and luncheon. Don't wait to be called. Volunteer. Find a job that you enjoy and jump in. There is plenty of work for everyone. If you do not have a job to do at the end of your circle meeting call me immediately and I will find something for you to do. I promise. This is such a fun day. Plan to be part of it. (We also need lots of baked goods.)

Christmas Sunday will look very different this year with the main part of the service a
Christmas pageant with all our children. Yes, we want all our children, even those in a
pre-school who may not have a church at the present time. The pageant will be at the
one and only worship service on that morning beginning at 10:45 a.m. The first part or
half of the service will be all the children who will simply re-create the Christmas scene
of the nativity in our chancel. We will sing carols and rejoice in the season of joy as we
enjoy this moment. The last half of the service will include a meditation on the nativity
by our minister and prayers and praises. We will then go to our fellowship hall for a
"Birthday Cake for Jesus" to include children and all families. Plan now for this
wonderful time together before the great festival day of Christmas, and the birth of our
savior.
