The Colonial Singers have enthralled visitors
from across America with their rich, colorful
voices. The five singer, in colonial costume,
beguile audiences with song, commentary,
and humorous historic anecdote. Part
songs, catches, and glees form but a small
part of their repertoire, which spans four
centuries.
Performances include The White House and Blair House, Washington, D.C. Colonial Capitol, Courthouse of 1779, Bruton
Parish Church, Williamsburg Inn, and
Williamsburg Lodge, Dewitt Wallace Gallery
and the Hennage Auditorium, Williamsburg,
Virginia
Westover Plantation and Westover Church
Christopher Newport University - Celebration
of American Music
A reception hosted by the Staff Parish
Committee and the Trustees will follow the
program.
Volunteers needed for CONTACT Peninsula

Ministry of Love Through
Listening, will begin training
for their 24-hour crisis hotline
in September. Classes will take place on
Saturday mornings from 9:00 until 12:00
noon and will run for nine weeks. If you are
a caring person who would like to help
others, they will train you in the area of

All FUMC choirs will be off and running on
Wednesday, September 8, to prepare for
our Sanctuary's 50th Anniversary
Celebration. As already announced, there
will only be one Sunday morning service on
September 12 at 10:45 a.m. The
Cherub/Wesley Choir and the Epworth Choir
will sing a combined anthem, The Lord is my
Light, and the Chancel Choir will sing, Christ
Is our Cornerstone. Please note that new
members of any choir are asked to wait until
Wednesday, September 22 to join us for
rehearsals. Welcome back!
