Well, where did the summer go? I feel like I
missed it. I hope all of you had a great
summer and are now ready to get back to
work! We are running into fall -- full speed
ahead. So get ready!
We start the fall activities with our Executive Board Meeting on Tuesday, September 7 at 9:30 a.m. We have much to discuss, so it's important that we all be there. The following day we will be hosting the first Midweek Dinner for the season. Those of you who usually attend, please try to help with either setting up, serving, or cleaning up. (At least we don't have to cook.)
We will also have a general meeting on Tuesday, September 21 at 7:15. This meeting will include our candle burning, which was postponed from our spring meeting. Cathy Williamson tells me we will have a program centered around missions. You will hear more about the program as we get closer to the meeting.
We don't want to miss any of the Mission Festival at the end of September and the first of October. I'm sure many of you will be involved in the planning and implementing many of the activities during that time.
Looking ahead to October the District Annual Meeting will be at Christ United Methodist Church on October 2, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. You don't want to miss this celebration of our 135th anniversary.
Also in October we are having a United Methodist Women's Sunday, October 24. We have invited a very special guest speaker to come and help us with both worship services that day. This will be an extraordinary day for FUMC United Methodist Women. And of course our annual Craft Show and Luncheon is in the month of October. We all know how much work is involved in that endeavor.
So, my sisters in mission, let's get ready! There's much to do!
