We appreciate the fine books that Billie Way continues to donate to our church library for the reading enjoyment of our congregation.
Those of you who are enjoying the exciting Miss Julia Series will be interested in learning that Billie has donated the fifth book in that series. It is entitled Miss Julia Meets Her Match. Ann B. Ross, who taught literature at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, is the author of these popular Southern debut novels. Billie has also given the third book in the Abram's Daughters Series. The title is Sacrifice.
Billie has donated another series of modern Christian fiction entitled The Cape Light Series. These heartwarming books are written by Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer. You are invited to meet the townsfolk whose lives are intertwined by faith, community and love.
Book I - Cape Light
Book II - Home Song
Book III - Gathering Place
Book IV - New Leaf
Come, check out one of your library's attractive books. You can keep it for a whole month!

Thanks again.
Since our last issue of the Church Tower much needed work has continued around First Church. Some of the updates are listed below.
1. The AC unit over the top of the Fellowship Hall has been repaired.
2. A new water pipe was added under the Fellowship Hall to replace the often repaired old pipe that had burst again.
3. Safety treads were added to stair wells. Also, new padded, carpeting was installed in the hallways of the Educational Building. Many thanks go out to Jim Loving and Fred Way for modifying the doors leading into the hallways so they open properly with the rugs.
4. The painting of the hallways on the first floor has been completed. Special thanks to Kate and Erin Coleman and their assistant, Ken Coleman and to Cathy and Dave Williamson for their help with the painting.
Many jobs around the church require special tools that we don't have. So, we call on Glenn Miller who always comes up with the answer to our problem. Not only does Glenn have the tools, but also he has the skills and ability to use them. Most important though is the willingness and desire he has to serve our church. Our hard hats go off to Glenn for all that he does for our church.
