September 12 we will celebrate the fifty years this congregation has worshiped in the present Sanctuary. And what has happened all those years? Life, in and through the wonderful Word of God. Think if you will of all the families, and individuals and "pilgrims" who have come here seeking guidance, encouragement, understanding, and blessing. Think of the people who came to give thanks, but also those who came to seek direction and found it. Think of those who were saved from their sins and started on their new road to Heaven. Think of those who came feeling as if they were dealing with a brick wall they could not get around and God showed them a door to a new world through his wonderful plan of life for them. Many of those people came and went, others stayed and planted themselves and gave through the music and the leadership and the ministries of the church because as they did they understood more clearly God in their lives. Think of the little children who came to know of Jesus here. And the children who were baptized into the community of faith and were nurtured into a mature faith that was alive and lively for them in the world they lived and worked and struggled in. And remember those who were brought here in death to be remembered for all the ways they had blessed other lives in the church and in the world. Here we have sung the songs of Zion when we were joyful and when our hearts were broken. And here we were sent into the world equipped by God's Holy Spirit to love and serve in Christ's name. Make plans to celebrate with thanksgiving as we gather at this Altar to seek the continual blessing of God. See you Anniversary Sunday for one Service only at 10:45. Bring a Thank Offering that represents a sacrificial gift for God's mission through this Church.
