Did you notice?

Jerry Dodson, Trustee Chair

Last month, the painting of the sanctuary was completed. Thank you to all those who helped in this endeavor. There are a few things left to do to get it ready for our 50th anniversary in September. If you are able to help, let us know. It also isn't too late to make a donation to the cost of this project in honor or memory of someone.

Who was that masked man?

He comes into the church on weekends and at nights and drives a foreign car (North Carolina tags). He is often accompanied by his side kick, Fred Way. Together they work on our sound system, and our electrical system, as well as fix things around the homestead, otherwise known as the parsonage.

Thank you, Jim Sandstrom for all your time and devoted church work. Hi ho! Away!

S.O.S. Puppets to Perform

Our puppet team will be performing for all the Sunday school classes in the fellowship hall on Sunday, June 13 at 9:45 a.m. Look for their unique version of the prodigal son.

This will be the last performance for Sara-Ann Pomeroy as she is heading off to college. She has been with the puppet group since it started. Her skills in this art form are the best. We will miss her and want to thank her for all her hard work. Let's give her a big hand! That's a puppeteer joke.

In the Mail

To everyone who has been so kind and wonderful to me,

Thanks for being the kind of friends who always care. You're special. Also for sending that beautiful bouquet to me. Hoping and praying that I will get well soon.

Love,
Betty Moss and family

Thank you, Rev. LeGault and Bette for your most helpful visits.

Dear FUMC,

Bryon, MaryGrace , Emma and I, just wanted to express how much we have loved being a part of your family while living here in Newport News. Our family will be relocating to Boulder, Colorado the end of June. Our two and a half years here in Newport News, was too fast and so many events have occurred while being a part of your family. Leaving FUMC is going to be the most difficult part of this Military move for us. You have become a part of our family and you have become a special part of our hearts and soul. Thank you for all the prayers and support during MaryGrace's ordeal back in March. She is our miracle and she is doing so much better because of YOU and the Grace of God. Our family will always remember each and every moment spent at First Church.

Love Always,
Bryon, Tina, MaryGrace & Emma Rose Hartzog
