Lynne Finding, Executive Director of LINK writes in the monthly newsletter, LINK LINES:
As I have been traveling around Newport News with the PORT Program, I have been talking to many volunteers about LINK's new program which will begin shortly, namely, the CANLINK Permanent Housing Program. LINK will partner with CANDII, Children's AIDS Network Designed for Interfaith Involvement, to provide 15 single units and 12 family units to homeless individuals or families who have some type of disability. LINK is excited at the prospect of this new venture and will continue to need your support as LINK and CANDII strive to provide holistic supportive services and to help each individual/family set up a home utilizing donated items which you have and continue to most generously contribute.
There is a lot more to tell about this but we will save it for next month.
To get things started, they are having a dinner dance fund raiser at Point Plaza on Thursday, May 20, 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. They would like to have us attend and celebrate with them. Tickets are $35 per person. For additional information see the bulletin board outside the church office or contact June Loving at 877-2569
If you desire to read the scripture in such a manner as may most effectually answer this end, would it not be advisable,
And whatever light you then receive, should be used to the uttermost, and that immediately. Let there be no delay. Whatever you resolve, begin to execute the first moment you can. So shall you find this word to be indeed the power of God unto present and eternal salvation.
