A Word About Trust
Recently as I was returning from a carefree week away, I was relating how I was very anxious about if everything went well for the United Methodist Men's worship service on Sunday, April 25. Actually I was biting my nails as I looked at my watch and thought about how worship was unfolding in our fellowship hall where we have moved during the painting of the Sanctuary. Well to make a short story shorter, I heard all went well. Numbers of folks told me upon my return that it was fine and I shouldn't have worried. They were of course right. We are worrying folks though aren't we? Do you try to find stuff to get upset about? Are you worried about stuff right now? You and I are only human in a complicated world. Well there are lots of things to think about and be anxious about sure enough, but the point here is, what about God? Do you believe in and trust God in your life? Do you heed the words from the Sermon on the Mount, about not being anxious about your life what you shall eat and what you shall put on? We all are anxious and we do need to trust God that the heavenly Father knows those concerns and anxieties of our lives, and the heavenly Father loves us. A beautiful and simple teaching, isn't it? Well I just wanted everything to go well at the church while I was not here. I guess I was acting like a little mother not wanting to let her children fly on their own. I will admit it. Are you trusting God's will for your life today and everyday? Do you put all your worries into prayers and offer them up to God? We know we should. We know we can. Give God your hardest worry today and let God minister to your days and nights.
