It's time to put Vacation Bible School on your calendar! This year's Hilton Area VBS will be held July 19-23 at Hilton Presbyterian and St. Andrew's Episcopal Churches. The children will meet one of God's most valuable players, Paul, and through his adventures, they'll learn what it means to be a member of God's team. The theme verse is "Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Corinthians 15:57).
If you are interested in working with VBS this year, please see Annette Pomeroy or Kim Webster at the church office (595-0383). More information will follow in upcoming Towers and bulletins.
The children and youth of the church have received Lenten Coin folders to use during Lent which began on Ash Wednesday, February 25. They are encouraged to fill the folder with dimes. The folder should be returned on Easter Sunday, April 11. The money collected will go toward the mission support of Daniel and Lisa Godwin, our missionaries in Ecuador.

As the weather becomes warmer our children begin to play outdoors more. They also begin to wear light weight jackets and sweatshirts. A recent article in Church Risk Management Journal (January 2004) discussed the dangers of drawstrings on children's jackets and sweatshirts. Here are some quotations from the article:
So the warning is drawstrings can catch and kill children. CUT ALL DRAWSTRINGS IMMEDIATELY! Let's keep our children safe this spring.
