FUMC Shut-in Program

The GOAL of this program is: To provide an organized, ongoing visitation to the shut-ins of our church family that will enable the Spirit of Jesus Christ to be visible. The UMW Circles have volunteered to take many people from this list and make contact at least once a month. This contact can be a visit, telephone call or a note/card. We also have a few individuals who are part of this program. This is a commitment of love and caring, that is what we, as Christians, are all about. Each contact is documented on a small form that is available in the Parish Nurse box in the church office. These are reviewed monthly and documented. Following this review they are given to our Pastor so that he is aware of those contacts. ONLY people on the Shut-In List need be documented. Please note: not all "Special Persons" on individual circle membership rolls are on the Shut-In List.

This program, implemented by our Pastor and myself, is an attempt to make certain their church family has not forgotten them and that they are important to us. This list is reviewed and updated frequently and the current list is posted on the Parish Nurse bulletin board. This is a program that should involve the entire church and not just Circles or a few others. We NEED YOU - men and women - to fulfill this vital ministry. If anyone is willing to assist us, please contact me. You will get to know some delightful, Christian people that will enrich your lives.

The people that are already involved in this ministry are doing a fine job but as the list grows so does the need for more people to assist us. Thank you and God Bless!
