These lists do not include the clothes taken to LINK during 2003 by Jerry Dodson before we started counting and sorting. Also, they do not show the hand-knitted caps made by Monetta Joyce's group. They all go together to reflect the total clothing contributions given during 2003. Well done!

The Dodsons are still collecting toiletries and have taken several boxes of these items to PORT/LINK. We will continue the clothing drive as long as we get items contributed. There is a special need for coats and jackets now. The other day, I was at my dentist office and I told him of our collection for the homeless. There are many people who do not know what to do with items they have outgrown or replaced with a more stylish item. Do not be afraid to ask! Let us not have our trash dump filled up with warm clothes that could be used by one of our homeless!

The food collection every second Sunday also goes into the PORT pantry to be given out to needy families. Remember our Christmas boxes were great, but they can only last a week or two at the most! What then? Remember to bring your food contributions every second Sunday. Jerry Dodson takes those over to LINK for us also.

United Methodist Day at the General Assembly

There will be twelve (12) persons going from FUMC to Richmond, plus two (2) additional from a sister church. Everyone is excited and looking forward to the trip. This year we will plan diverse activities so each member will get to see and do things they wish to do. If anyone gets too tired they can attend a committee meeting in the General Assembly Building (GAB) and not move around as much as others in the group. There will be something for everyone.

Next month's Tower will give a report of activities, attendees and observations.
