Mark your calendar for a new session of Midweek Fellowship beginning Wednesday, January 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The United Methodist Women will be hosting the dinner. We will also meet on January 21 with the Preschool teachers hosting. The cost of the meal is by donation. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mr. John LeGault will continue the study of Favorite Bible Passages.
During the fall session we had several persons on the permanent reservation list who did not come on a regular basis. It is very important that you sign up on the permanent listing ONLY if you are certain you will be attending each week. All others should sign up weekly through the church bulletin. The food is purchased on the basis of the number on the permanent list plus the weekly sign ups. We have been having a large quantity of food left over the last several months. An accurate number for supper is important to avoid wastefulness. Please help us be good stewards by signing up for only the weeks you will be in attendance.
The United Methodist Youth Fellowship is sponsoring a Hoagie (Sub Sandwich) Sale for Super Bowl Sunday, February 1. Youth will be taking orders on Sunday, January 18 and 25. Cost is $5 per hoagie (turkey, ham, provolone, lettuce and tomato) plus a brownie. The proceeds go toward their trip to Lake Junaluska in July and their spring retreat.

Remember to bring an extra dollar (or two or five or ten) with you to worship on Sunday, February 1. Our young people will be stationed at the sanctuary doors to receive your donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring. Every dollar collected here at First Church will go directly to the Peninsula Food Bank. The Souper Bowl, which began as the fruit of prayer, saw over 12,000 congregations together generate over $3.5 million for the needy in 2003.
to all those who supported the United Methodist Youth wrapping paper fund raiser. We sold a total of $754 and received a 50% profit of $377. This will go toward the youth's various activities and projects. Thanks again for all your support.
