Our last Midweek Fellowship of 2003 is on Wednesday, December 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Bithynia Class is hosting the dinner. The cost of the meal is by donation. Decorating the Sanctuary, &Hanging of the Greens& will be done from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Making a family Advent Wreath will also be available as an activity. Please make reservations through the Sunday bulletin or by calling the church office the Monday prior to the Wednesday when Midweek Fellowship is scheduled.
The children are encouraged to stay after Cherub/Wesley Choir rehearsal and help with the decorating of the Fellowship Hall. There will also be a Christmas craft activity available for the children. Child care will be provided for children who are too young to participate in the other activities. Middle school and high school students are encouraged to participate in the choir programs held during this time or help with the &Hanging of the Greens.&
The children of our Weekday Preschool will be presenting a Christmas program of Christmas music on Monday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Of course the children's parents and grandparents will be there, but the entire church congregation is also invited. So come and enjoy an evening of Christmas music in the voices of our little ones.
The children of First church will be hosting a Christmas Party on Monday, December 22 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Our friends from the Preschool are invited along with the children from the homeless shelter. Holiday crafts, a Christmas video, and lunch will be the activities. Our XYZ Group will be celebrating the Christmas Season Wednesday, December 17. Wesley Berryman, accompanied by Carolyn Smith will lead us in a carol sing-a-long after we enjoy our covered-dish luncheon. We meet at 12:00 noon in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited to attend and bring a friend or neighbor.
Sowers of Seeds, is a group of youth and adults who interpret God's word through different creative means such as sign, sticks, puppetry and mine. If you are interested in joining this group or want to support this ministry, contact Jerry or Martha Dodson at 599-4527.
On Sunday, December 7, they will present God's Hands at both worship services. Mark your calendars -- you won't want to miss this.
