Notes From the

Bette C. Jones, RN &
John T. LeGault Jr., Pastor

PARTNERS IN CHRIST: What does that mean? We are all called to do God's work. We all have different talents or callings. That is what makes the church viable. The sick, bereaved, mentally ill and people challenged with many problems are all part of our church family. Each day we are called to serve in different capacities. In my work as your Parish Nurse I feel very blessed to have known and offered assistance to so many people in a personal and confidential manner. However, I cannot do this alone and indeed there is a partnership here with our entire congregation and with our Pastor. Together, with God's help we try to minister to the needs of one another. John LeGault and I have a unique partnership in which there is an opportunity to do ministry during a time in the life of our members. We appreciate this moment and approach this ministry knowing that Christ is in our midst. Our ministry is focused toward wholeness and healing in a partnership setting. Here is what we want to bring to each parishioner we work with:

  1. Christ's healing presence. Where two or three are gathered in his name he is among us.
  2. Interest in the life and times of those with whom we minister. Where are we, what's happening, how is God in this?
  3. Mutual understanding. We are living out the gospel to bear one another's burdens.
  4. Not forgotten. Let our folks know because they are sick, they are not forgotten by our congregation and its life of prayer.
  5. One for all, all for one. That we are all together in this, struggling for wholeness and healing as we pray for God's will to be done and healing to take place.
  6. Community means together, not alone and forgotten.

Pray for our work with the sick, shut-ins, and those in need who seek wholeness and healing.
