Faith in Action! I have seen acts of kindness; people helping people; people saying "good morning" to others they have not acknowledged before. When trouble comes to everyone, we seem to relate to each other with more understanding and empathy than at any other time.
At the time of this writing, I am not sure if we had the Potato Luncheon or not. We may have had it on an alternate date. I will report the contribution amount for the communion offering and the Potato Luncheon together in the November Tower.
As Annette wrote last month "Put Your Faith Into Action." She made a list of activities with suggestions for mission service. That was a great starter list. If you need a copy, see me or Annette and we will provide one for you or put a note in the Mission Mail Box in the church office.
This world offering, as directed by the guideline of the General Church Conference is to be distributed as follows:
50% for Crusade Scholarships with at least ½ of the amount used in ministries beyond the USA
35% for the Ethnic Scholarship Program
15% for the Ethnic In-Service Training Program
These scholarships and programs give a measure of support to many groups who need leaders to guide their struggling congregations. To build a stronger world fellowship of faith, this financial assistance is desperately needed.
