The Hilton Area Vacation Bible School (housed at Hilton Presbyterian and St. Andrew's Episcopal Churches) was experienced by 220 children plus approximately 120 adult leaders and youth helpers during the week of July 14-18. Each day provided time to sing, worship, hear Bible stories, and make crafts -- all centered on the daily themes of love, joy, peace, patience and kindness.
The monetary offering for the week went to Heifer International and Peninsula SPCA. Along with the $1,580.98 received for these projects, the children also collected dog and cat food for the SPCA which was delivered to them by the 6th grade class.
Much spiritual preparation and manual labor was required, but the results were wonderful. The joyful expressions on the children's faces were indeed an ample "Thank you" for a job well done.
