First Church will celebrate Christian Education Sunday on September 28. The theme this year is "Connected Through Christ: Serving in Community." We often live, act, work and serve as faithful disciples without realizing it. How does First Church welcome and nurture our faith? How does it prepare us to be sent back into our workplaces, our schools, and our communities and serve others?
Here are some suggestions for involving your family in acts of service and mission:
These are only a few things that you could do. Put your thinking cap on and then DO SOMETHING! Put Your Faith into Action!

This study will meet weekly for 32 weeks starting Monday, September 8, from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the home of John and Judithe Ord (409 Honeysuckle Lane, Yorktown). Disciple IV concentrates on the Writings in the Old Testament -- Ruth, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations and Daniel -- and the New Testament scriptures of the Gospel of John, 1, 2, 3 John, James, Jude and Revelation. If you are interested in this study, please contact Annette Pomeroy at 595-0383 for a study book.
All youth in grades 6 through 12 are invited to
participate in UM Youth. We are a group of
Christian youth who serve others, worship, learn
and play together. On Sunday, September 7 at
6:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall, you and your
family are invited to a covered-dish supper
that will begin our year together. We will get re-acquainted with each other and organize for the
coming months. There are several new
possibilities for service, study and fellowship in
the months to come, so come and join us!
Questions, contact Annette Pomeroy at 595-0383 or Steve Elder, Youth Coordinator at 596-2745.
