STROKE: A stroke, or brain attack, is caused by the sudden loss of blood flow to the brain or bleeding inside the head. There are two main types of a stroke. Ischemic - blockage of brain blood vessels and Hemmorrhagic - bleeding into or around the brain.
1. Sudden numbness or weakness of face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
2. Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
3. Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
4. Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
5. Sudden severe headache with no known cause
Less common symptoms include:DO NOT WAIT - CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY! (Even if symptoms go away quickly)
There are many new and exciting treatments for stroke victims. Rehabilitation may include: physical, occupational, and speech therapists; nurses; and doctors. You have seen articles printed in many publications. You can never see them enough. Read and remember.
