Spiritual Growth

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help our nation to become more loving and compassionate toward other people in the world, whether they are our "allies" or our "enemies," and whether they always agree with us or not. May we try to share our ideals of freedom and justice with all other countries, both those who are rich in resources and those who are poor and desolate.

Inspire our leaders to replace our guns and bombs with food and medicine, farm and garden tools, seeds and livestock, so that desperate people will have hope for the future. Let our nation become a source of help and a guiding light to struggling people everywhere.

From those who have much, much more will be expected. We ask these things in your Holy Name. Amen.
