Be a Lighthouse Family - Shine God's Light!

This year the children and their families will shine God's Light during the Sunday School hour and beyond as they become Lighthouse Families. We'll be studying five different Bible stories that illustrate how we can "Shine God's Light" in the world around us. There will be crafts, singing, and exploration into the bible stories.

Lighthouse Families begin the adventure on Sunday, June 15 and wrap things up on Sunday, August 31. We'll meet upstairs in the children's area from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. On Sunday, August 31 we'll celebrate the conclusion of the summer and the beginning of a new school year with a family breakfast.

PS: Anyone interested in helping staff a Sunday or two should contact Annette Pomeroy (595-0383) immediately.

"Nan Kay Papa Mwen" - "In My Father's House"

As part of the summer Sunday School program, the children and their families will be collecting money for and learning about International Child Care, a Christian Health development organization operating in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. It works to change the conditions that make people sick, hungry, impoverished and afraid by providing both immediate, compassionate attention to acute human needs, as well as long-term solutions to the root causes of sickness and suffering.

You will find placed around the church "Tap Tap" Banks. In Haiti, people use Tap Taps, small buses or pick-up trucks with canopies over the back, for public transportation. Tap Taps are generally painted with bold designs and bright colors. Phrases such as "God is good" or words like "faith" or "love" are often painted on the sides of these vehicles. Look for the Tap Tap Banks around the church and please be generous. Consider this:

$0.25 will provide a healthy meal for a child at Grace Children's Hospital

$1.00 will provide a Traditional Birth Attendant to assist in delivering a baby in a healthy way.

$6.00 is all it takes to provide life saving medicines for one child.

$9.00 is all it takes to provide the best possible care for a child at the hospital.

$15.00 a month will provide basic rehabilitation and therapeutic care for one child.
