It's time to prepare our kits for Annual Conference! This year we will be making Health Kits and School Kits. If you would like to help, you may bring a complete kit or items for either kit and leave them in a box in the narthex or bring them to the front office. Please do not bring or add anything different to the kits -- Church World Service is very precise about what is needed.

Health Kit

  • 1 hand towel,
  • 1 washcloth,
  • 1 new bar of soap (bath size),
  • 1 toothbrush,
  • 1 tube of toothpaste,
  • 1 comb,
  • 1 nail file,
  • 5 Band Aids.

(Wrap all small items in the towel and tie securely with ribbon or yarn.) A donation of $12 will provide CWS funds to assemble a health kit.

School Kit

  • 2 pads of 8½ x 11 inch ruled paper,
  • 1 pair of blunt scissors,
  • 1 30-cm metric ruler (inches on one side, centimeters on the other),
  • 1 pencil sharpener,
  • 6 unsharpened pencils with erasers,
  • 1 2½" eraser,
  • 12 sheets of construction paper,
  • 1 box of 24 crayons,
  • 1 12 x 14 inch cloth bag with cloth handles

(Place all items in the bag. Fold top over and secure with two large rubber bands.) $11 will provide items for CWS to prepare a school kit.

Deadline for items / kits, Sunday, June 1!

UMW General Meeting
May 20, 7:00 p.m.

It's Time, the District UMW sponsored play on Christian love and appreciation of each other, will be presented in the Fellowship Hall on May 20. The General Meeting will begin with the Candle Burning ceremony at 7:00 p.m. and the play will follow at 7:15 p.m.

The play, which has received acclaim from many churches and organizations in the area, features a cast of diverse background and cultures and is directed by O'Niel Eley of Asbury United Methodist Church. Mr. Eley is a former professional actor from Chicago.

There will be refreshments following the program. The United Methodist Women invites everyone to this meeting. Please come and bring your friends.
