Midweek Fellowship continues on Wednesday, March 5 and March 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Wesleyan Fellowship Class (with assistance from church staff members) is hosting on March 5 which is Ash Wednesday. The Good News Class in hosting on March 19. The cost of the meal is by donation. Mr. John LeGault will continue the study on "Three Hundred Years of Methodism," from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Please make reservations through the Sunday bulletin or by calling the church office the Monday prior to the Wednesday when Midweek Fellowship is scheduled. Please note that child care is provided for infants through 3rd graders.
It's time to put Vacation Bible School on your calendar! This year's Hilton Area VBS will be held July 14-18 at Hilton Presbyterian and St. Andrew's Episcopal Churches. The theme centers around five of the fruits of the spirit: love, patience, peace, joy and kindness. If you are interested in working with VBS this year please see Annette Pomeroy or Kim Webster at the church office (595-0383). More information will follow in upcoming Towers and bulletins.
The children and youth of the church will be receiving Lenten Coin Boxes or Folders to use during Lent which begins on Wednesday, March 5. They are encouraged to place an offering in the box/folder each day. The boxes/folders should be returned on Easter Sunday, April 20. The money collected will go toward the mission support of Daniel and Lisa Godwin, our missionaries in Ecuador.
Makemie Woods, a residential Christian camp near Williamsburg, is seeking mature Christians to serve as staff, to work hard serving God and making friends and to have an impact on many lives with the love of Christ. They are in need of counselors, lifeguards, waterfront/canoe instructors, an EMT or RN, crafts director and junior staff. You must be in 11th grade or older to apply, with most positions requiring that you be at least 18 and one year beyond high school. Makemie Woods is supported by the Peninsula District United Methodist Church. Applications are available from Annette Pomeroy at the church office on online at www.makwoods.org.
The adventure begins June 15 at Makemie Woods near Williamsburg! Explore your faith and God's creation, learn new skills, and make lifelong friendships. The Makemie Woods program offers a wide variety of opportunities and challenges, including mini-sessions for beginners, traditional overnight camping and many special skill camps.
