Primetimers - An Educational and Service Experience for Mature Adults

The General Board of Global Ministries has started a new program for older adults called "Primetimers." Primetimers is an educational and service experience for mature adults. The purpose is to provide service and new learning experiences for older persons, offering opportunities for intentional education, faith-filled reflection, and cross-cultural appreciation in the context of Christian mission. Events are held in a variety of locations.

The 2003 Primetimers events are as follows:

  • February 25 - March 2 Gulfside United Methodist Assembly, Waveland, MS

  • March 30 - April 3 UMC Office at Church Center, New York, NY

  • April 27 - May 2 New Windsor Conference Center, New Windsor, MD

  • June 1 - 6 Watson Homestead Center, Painted Post, NY

  • June 22 - 27 Alton Collins Retreat, Eagle Creek, OR

  • September 15 - 26 Landersen Retreat & Vacation Center, France

  • October 26 - November 1 UMCOR Sager-Brown, Baldwin, LA

  • October 26 - November 1 Hinton Rural Life Center, Hayesville, NC

Midweek Fellowship for

Mark your calendar for a new session of Midweek Fellowship beginning Wednesday, January 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We will also meet on January 22. The cost of the meal is by donation. Mr. John LeGault will begin a study on "Three Hundred Years of Methodism," from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Please make reservations through the Sunday bulletin or by calling the church office the Monday prior to the Wednesday when Midweek Fellowship is scheduled.

Many Thanks . . .

to all those who supported the United Methodist Youth Wrapping Paper Fund-raiser. We sold a total of $573 and received a 50% profit of $286.50. This will go toward the youth's ski trip in February. Thanks again for all your support.

Hoagie Sale - Super Bowl Sunday, January 26

The United Methodist Youth Fellowship is sponsoring a Hoagie (Sub Sandwich) Sale for Super Bowl Sunday, January 26. Youth will be taking orders on Sundays, January 12 and 19. Cost is $5 per hoagie (turkey, ham, provolone, lettuce and tomato) plus a brownie. The proceeds go toward their trip to Lake Junaluska in July and their ski trip in February.
