The Connectional System:

The Book of Discipline (1996) created a General Commission on UM Men. We are now a separate entity.

The new commission (created in April, 1996, seeks to help men encounter Christ, to grow spiritually and live lives as Christian husbands, fathers and role models.

United Methodist Men

Men seek to serve as:

• Lay delegates to Annual Conference
• Local preachers
• Lay speakers
• On local church and higher level boards, committees and commissions
• Help in Scouting ministries

"Over the Hill Gang"

At First United Methodist Church, a group of retired men, known as the "Over the Hill Gang", has for many years met regularly to do repair and construction work at the church. These efforts have resulted in saving our church thousands of dollars in expenses. Your help is solicited.
